Meet Rev Dike Godspower Utih PhD

Dike Godspower was born into the family of Mr and Mrs David Utih on July 26 1969, in Umukwata, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State. He had his primary education in St. Theresa’s Primary School, Obinomba and secondary education in St. George’s Grammar School, Obinomba.

He later proceeded to Edo State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1996.

He was led to Christ in September 1987 in First Baptist Church, Ekrejeta, Abraka, where he became actively involved in the Youth Ministry of that Church. While on campus, he served as Bible study Leader, Drama Leader, Evangelism Coordinator and President in the Baptist Student Fellowship.

He was involved in the planting of the following churches: Faith Baptist Church, Ujemen in Edo State (1992), Central Baptist Church Ubiaja, Edo State (1993), Baptist Church Omagwa in River State (2000), Rhema Baptist Church, Rumuagholu in Rivers State (2001). As a Corper, he served as the Zonal Coordinator of the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) Awgu Zone in the Enugu State.

Due to his love for the service of God and his knowledge of the word of God, he was ordained a Pastor by Bishop Pius Odioko of Jesus Dominion Mission, Warri, in December 2002. He served in Port Harcourt Branch for 2 (two) years.

As a Civil Engineer, he worked in the following companies:

  • A & E Communications, Port Harcourt, Rivers State (1999)
  • Petronella Nigeria/Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) East, Port Harcourt as a Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer (2001- to July 1 2004);
  • Special Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Environment, Asaba, Delta State (July 2004 – May 2007)

Rev Dike  G. Utih relocated to Delta State in July 2004, where he joined Victory Baptist Church, Asaba. After moving to Okpanam, he joined Grace Baptist Church in May 2007.

As he continued in his usual service to God, the Church decided to make him their Church leader in 2008. He later proceeded to Eku Baptist Seminary, where he graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Theology in May 2012 and got a call to service in Grace Baptist Church by the Mother Church, Victory Baptist Church, Asaba on June 1 2012.

While serving in Grace Baptist Church, he laid the foundation of the main Church in 2014 and proceeded to Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, where he graduated with a Master’s in Theology (Church History) in June 2016. Rev Dike got admitted for PhD in 2017 and bagged a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Church History, June 5, 2021.

Rev. Dike Godspower Utih is married to Patience Eseoghene Dike-Utih, and the marriage is blessed with four children.
